Are we allowed to do affiliate marketing on blogger.com?
M not too sure about that cos one of terms of agreement seem to say we are not to use it for any commercial purposes.
Also Word Press explicitly forbid it.
Below is copied from Blogger Terms of service:
7. No Resale of the Service. Unless expressly authorized in writing by Google, you agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, trade, resell or exploit for any commercial purposes (a) any portion of the Service, (b) use of the Service, or (c) access to the Service.
Doesn’t it sound like its use for commercial purposes is prohibited? I have heard some instances where accounts were terminated for suspicion of being SPAM blogs??!! i.e blogs used to direct traffics to other sites.
This is from Wordpress:
And here are some examples of blogs that are banned from WordPress.com (all of these fall under the general heading of “spam blogs”, or splogs, and we will be deleted as soon as we find them or they get reported):
* Scraper blogs: Blogs that take content from other blogs and re-publish it without permission (this is sometimes called scraping). If a blog contains all or mostly stolen and unoriginal content, it’s gone!
* SEO blogs: Blogs that are written for search engines instead of humans. These blogs are dedicated to trying to fool Google and other search engines into ranking them highly. WordPress.com is not meant for this type of activity.
* Affiliate marketing blogs: Blogs with the primary purpose of driving traffic to affiliate programs and get-rich-quick schemes (”Make six figures from home!!”, “20 easy steps to top profits!!”, etc). To be clear, examples like people writing original book or movie reviews and linking them to Amazon, or people

I’m back and will be moving webhost this evening, so once it’s done I’ll come back and post my thoughts!
Basically I am doing the following steps:
- Download complete website via FTP
- Export my database content via my Cpanel and PHPMyAdmin..
- Change my DNS settings for the domain via my domain registrar (XRT – Peter Drew)
- Re-create database on the new hosting account once the DNS has propogated
- Upload all files, check and come back to post!
The downtime I anticipate to only be 20 mins to a half hour at worst.. fingers crossed, the DNS propogation may take a little longer…
Any questionds on the tech stuff in this post don’t be shy.. I’m here to help..
See you again soon
Andy

Blogging is a great way to make money online even if you’re totally new. If you’re new to blogging and yet want to start quickly, there are several business models you can try for maximum results in a short time. This article discussed the three most popular methods.
The first method is get paid to blog or paid blogging. Create your first blog and start adding some decent article to it. Then you signup with paid blogging networks like Pay Per Post or Review Me and see what “opportunities” are available. These networks are filled with advertisers looking for blogger who can help them spread the word, and they are willing to pay. Accept the opportunity, write about it on your blog, and you get paid.
The second method is WordPress and AdSense and it requires a little more technical know-how. You need to build a WordPress blog on a specific niche topic, and start writing some good content on it. At the same time, try to get links from other blogs by leaving comment on the blogs or by doing a link exchange with the blogger. The objective is to get more traffic who will click on your AdSense ads and make you money.
The third and most sophisticated method is affiliate marketing with WordPress blogs. Again, you set-up a good WordPress blog but with this model the amount of content you publish is not as important as the “selling quality” of the content. Each post you write must pre-sell the web visitor and convince him to click on your affiliate links. When the visitor makes a purchase online after that, you get credited for the sale and earn commissions.
Ultimately, which model you choose depends on how much time and resources you can dedicate to creating and managing your blogs. Choose a model that requires little investment at first, althoughugh this may mean more of your time. When you get the hang of it, you can venture into other blogging models as well.
