keyword research

Here’s a link to a very useful resource, thanks go to Steve Clayton who I have met thru The ‘Niche Blueprint’.

Its the Wordtracker Labs ‘Keyword Questions’: http://labs.wordtracker.com/keyword-questions

What this will do is give you a list of the top questions asked that include your keyword phrase when you enter it into the search box.

For example I got the following:

Wordtracker Labs - Keyword QuestionsThe “times asked” figure is the number of times that the question has been asked on our partner search engines in the US. The data is from the 140 days. (Quoted from Wordtracker)

Micro Niche Finder(4) Review

Micro Niche FinderMicro Niche Finder has been my personal keyword research software of choice since its first release back in 2005. It’s grown since then but always was a phenomenal research tool, especially good at identifying niches and niche keyword phrases to use for articles, adwords campaigns and general seo and marketing.

There are a tonne of useful features built in, the jewel of which is certainly “SOC” – This stands for ‘Strength Of Competition’ and will give you an instant Green, Orange or Red light for any keyword the software has found you.

In this screen shot, from my actual Micro Niche Finder software you can see just how much you are able to do with your keywords, you’ll notice the newly added ‘OCI’ results on the right too.

Micro Niche Finder

Review: I was a big fan of the original software and have used it for all my article writing keyword research for some time. With the latest release, version 4, even more features have been added to make the software a powerful research and organisational tool for the serious affiliate marketer or product creator. If you look at the screenshot from my computer above you can count 22 different actions you can perform on each keyword ranging from further ‘digging’ to ‘Clickbank Marketplace Search’ and much more. Search results are from Google too which has to be the best source for real world info considering thay are the king of the search engines by such a vast distance.

So what is ‘SOC’ and why do you need it? Strength Of Competition is a score (exclusive to Micro Niche Finder) combined with a green, orange or red light that tells you at a glance how difficult, or easy it will be to get a good ranking on Google for your keyword phrase. As you can see by the screenshot above the phrase ‘exotic body piercing’ has a SOC of 19 which makes it a very reasonable phrase to target. Any score 10 or under gets a green light and will basically be well worth targeting for article writing, on page optimisation if you have your own site, or building a blogger blog or squidoo lens for…

Phrases with SOC of 100 or more get a red light and are generally going to be hard work to get Google ranking for.

What is ‘OCI’ and why do you need it? With the update to version 4 James Jones has added a great feature in tandem with Microsoft Labs who have been offering their Online Commercial Intent score for some time now via the MSN website. Having this handy in Micro Niche Finder 4 is awesome as you can see at a glance what the likelihood of someone actually purchasing when searching using your keyword phrase is, hence the term Online Commercial Intent or ‘Likelihood to Buy’ in layman’s terms..

The manual included explains everything clearly from installation, activation and use of all the features. There’s a series of excellent videos on James Jones website too and I have always found him to be very responsive and helpful whenever I have emailed him.

Testimonials:

Price: With the release just recently of version 4 the price was going to increase slightly. Micro Niche Finder 4 is still $67 so hasn’t gone up yet, it’s also a one time payment only. It is great value considering it has so many features, the software has grown is still as powerful if not more so than many rivals charging high monthly fees for use.

Urgency: There is another major update on the horizon, according to James Jones version 5 will be relesed before the end of the year (boy is that approaching fast!). With that the price will increase again and may even evolve to a monthly fee though hopefully that will be an option rather than a requirement. However any one who buys before the next update will not have to pay any extra or a monthly fee so you’ll get the upgrade for free…

Of all the marketing tools that you can use in promoting your website and products online I’d recommend article marketing.

Here’s a few ways you can jumpstart your article marketing:

  • Do proper keyword research. This is one of the first things that you need to do. You have to figure out the most popular keywords being used by your target market when they go online and look for specific information. You need to write your articles around each of these keywords/key phrases so you can easily make your articles appear on Google etc for relevant searches.
  • Analyze the competitiveness of your keywords. You must also take into consideration the competition online when choosing keywords to write articles around. Your articles will have greater likelihood of showing up as top 10 search page results if you stick with keywords that are not very competitive; meaning, they are not already being targeted by millions of marketers worldwide.
  • Kick-start your articles with intriguing titles. Make sure you include the keyword or key phrase. Your titles must be attention-grabbing and enticing so that online readers will be encouraged to spend their precious time reading your articles.
  • Keep your articles short. You need to understand that the people you are serving (online users) have very limited attention span. These people usually don’t have the luxury of time to spend hours in front of their computers. You can serve them better if you can share your knowledge using 500 words or less. It would also help if you can make your content scannable (more easily read) by using subheadings, numbered lists, and bullet points whenever appropriate.
  • Your articles must be informative. Show your readers how much you appreciate their time reading your content by loading your articles with the kind of information that they are looking for. Share some trade secrets that they will be happy to know about or help them resolve their pressing issues so they can improve the quality of their lives.

So there you have some great article writing tips!

Speed and Focus..

Andy
