Web Development Wizardry

So i’m all switched over now to my new webhost.. Only another 25 domains to transfer.

That wasn’t too painful at all, just a matter of exporting the database and then re-creating it on the new webhost and importing all my hard work..

I also have some link tracking/cloaking scripts on this domain so there were a few databases involved.. It has all gone very smoothly so lets hope the new host has a reliable service.. I’ll come back later and discuss webhosting.

If anyone needs to do anything like this with their blog or website don’t hesitate to ask me for help or advice!

I’m back and will be moving webhost this evening, so once it’s done I’ll come back and post my thoughts!

Basically I am doing the following steps:

  • Download complete website via FTP
  • Export my database content via my Cpanel and PHPMyAdmin..
  • Change my DNS settings for the domain via my domain registrar (XRT – Peter Drew)
  • Re-create database on the new hosting account once the DNS has propogated
  • Upload all files, check and come back to post!

The downtime I anticipate to only be 20 mins to a half hour at worst.. fingers crossed, the DNS propogation may take a little longer…

Any questionds on the tech stuff in this post don’t be shy.. I’m here to help..

See you again soon :)

I have embarked on a fresh approach for 2009 which includes changing the look and feel of the blog to a more friendly and useful look, in my opinion!

I’ll be working on the theme today and no doubt tomorrow as I need to customize it quite extensively, I’ll try and post at least some of what I’m doing so it’s useful and fun!

Keep coming back to see the developments… (I’ll be changing the free offer for opting in to my list to something truly awesome, my first product!)

Peter Drew and Brute Force SEO are back again, bigger,

badder and better than ever!

Set to re-launch any day now (The 15th I believe) there will be 300 spots only for the latest, re-designed and re-vamped Brute Force SEO. The most excellent $1 – 7day trial will be offered again too which is great news. I am particularly excited about the changes as the first version was a little buggy and the interface wasn’t all that user friendly.. The system still rocked off course and is an amazing tool for those of us wanting to build links and sites quickly and get great ranking super fast in the search engines.. hang on that’s all of us!

The new release is even better with the addition of some utterly mind blowing features and a clean up of the interface and any bugs from the initial release…

Articlez

Now here’s a welcome idea! I’ve always intended to start outsourcing my articles and some content creation for other websites (never my blog!) It’s just that the whole elance, rentacoder bidding etc etc has really put me off a little.

I was delighted when Chris Rempel (one of the few lists I stay subscribed to!) put me onto Articlez.com today however as it seems these guys have decided to provide us webmasters with an affordable and easy way to get our content created while maintaining a high standard and a hassle free service.

I will be loading my new account with credits (each costing a dollar with content creation starting from as little as $2 an item) and will let you know as soon as I’ve had some articles done and submitted successfuly.

If you want to find out more and create yourself a free account then go check out www.Articlez.com now!

Forgive me for being self indulgent but I had to announce the return of my page rank!

After waiting a few weeks since I dissappeared off the face of google earth ( ;-) ) I have been returned to normal at last.

So my advice to anyone who suffers a Google drop is to check your content, eliminate anything remotely on or over the boundaries of Googles very clear do’s and don’ts. Submit a re-inclusion request, check your site map and make sure it’s submitted and then sit tight…

Cheers!
