The Basic Tools for Creating your own Website

Key decisions need to be thought out when going about creating a website. You need be aware what the basic tools are for generating webpages. There are two different routes you can take to make a website. You can either use a free online content management system to set up a template for you or start from scratch. Both are advantageous, as will be discussed in this article.

The first tool you’ll need is a web development program to code your website. Two such pieces of software are Adobe Dreamweaver and Kompozer. Kompozer is free to download online while Dreamweaver will cost you $300 – $400. These programs allow you to generate webpages without a huge amount of knowledge of the more technical parts of coding. These programs come with a lot of tools and wizards which will generate the code for you. Dreamweaver has a lot of online material to back it up. There will always be Dreamweaver tutorial lurking around if you find yourself stumped. Nevertheless, $300 is a lot of money and Kompozer has all the relevant tools to make a website.

The second thing you’ll need when you make a website is an image manipulation application. You should try to get yourself either a copy of Adobe Photoshop or GIMP. Once again, one is free while the latest version of Photoshop will cost you around $700. Photoshop has a lot of extensive features for in depth image manipulation. However if you are just looking to enhance some text or create some basic shapes then GIMP would certainly be the cheaper option. It matches most of the Photoshop tools for editing images.

So you’ve now got the tools to code and create images for your site. Starting from scratch is tough though, you could also have a look at using a prebuilt content management system. Two examples are WordPress and Joomla. They both start you off with basic templates that you can then manipulate to suit your needs.

Before deciding between Joomla and WordPress you need to consider your site’s purpose. If you’re looking to start a blog then WordPress will definitely be the option for you. Once installed, its admin section enables you to create posts quickly and easily. It also has a wide selection of plugins you can easily install allowing your visitors to quickly bookmark posts or track the amount of visitors to your site. The ability to quickly add widgets to your website is also convenient. With the click of a button you can add a calendar to your page or link up with your Twitter account.

So WordPress is certainly a useful tool but it is primarily aimed at blogging. If your looking to set up a website for an organization it might be worth looking into Joomla. It can be used to convey all kinds of content, more than just posts. Its advanced framework allows you to install communication tools or even ecommerce systems for your website.

Joomla and WordPress are both valuable tools for quick web development. They have their restrictions though. A beginner will struggle to deviate too far from their set layouts. Starting your site from scratch is more time consuming but you have the freedom to build your site whatever way you want. Choosing the right approach is crucial when setting out to make a website.

How accurate are the time estimates on google maps for driving?

I am interviewing for jobs in the area and I want to know how long it would take me to drive to certain locations. If google maps says 26 minutes will it really take that long?

I think a lot of the measurements might be too low from random entries I made. I’m not sure if they account for traffic and I live in a city.

How To Choose A Good Affiliate Product To Promote

One of the biggest mistakes that new affiliates make is choosing a product that no one buys. That’s the main reason that newbie affiliates have high failure rates with their affiliate marketing campaign.

As you probably know, when you don’t see results for your efforts, you can get frustrated very fast, and stop trying to do what you set out to do.

This is why my decision is to instruct you in choosing a good product to promote and that it will be profitable to you.

The first thing to look for in a product is whether it is a need or a want. When someone is in need for the product you’re promoting he will buy it no matter what the quality of it is, and sometime no matter what the price tag is.

Why would they pay for it?

Because you hold the answer that solves the problems that they are facing right there before them, in your hands. That’s why I recommend all my fellow affiliates to promote products that people need, and that’s the way to online fortune.

So how you can make sure that people actually need your product?

Choose products from the Health&Fitness category for example. Those people are desperate for a change in their life. Some of them are looking for a weight loss program that they can follow and get thin, while others are looking for to get six pack abs to show off and get more girls.

Another category that you can go for is the Adware&Spyware software. Adware and spyware are infecting computers everywhere and many folks are willing to pay hefty sums to save their computer’s data. Some have family pictures and others have some important documents that they don’t want to lose and they will pay a fortune to get rid of the spyware on their computer.

Can you see that selecting a product that people are in NEED of will greatly improve your chances of making sales. You should go for the desperate buyers and not those who are looking to have fun with their product. You may soon be generating sales should you decide to adhere to this theory. Got to Affiliate Kung Fu Review to find out more useful tips and affiliate marketing information.
